Access Family Health launches medical mobile clinic
SMITHVILLE, Miss. (WTVA) — A local medical provider is giving folks across North Mississippi an easier opportunity to get health care where they live.
Access Family Health Services has launched its new mobile health clinic initiative.
It will serve people in five local counties, particularly those who may lack the means to visit traditional hospitals and clinics.
"We can help get the people where they need for the services that they need, even if they don't have insurance or they don't have enough insurance," said Marilyn Sumerford, the executive director of Access Family Health Services. "But we also serve people that are insured because in a lot of the communities we are the only health provider there."
The mobile units will be able to provide a number of services, including primary care for both adults and children, optometry, dental care and immunizations.
Right now, this mobile unit is being used at local schools.
